Of the strange spirits inhabiting the Elder Scrolls universe, the Daedra make their presence most felt. The franchise’s early lore, much of which concerns the creation of the universe itself, can seem totally bizarre, even to players who started the series with Arena. Skyrim’s accessibility may have been a key part of its success, but The Elder Scrolls wasn’t always so easy to understand. Throw in some roughly recognizable Elves, Orcs, and some cities seemingly lifted straight from The Lord of the Rings, and it’s not hard for most players to throw themself headfirst into Bethesda’s open world.
